Information on the number of users of data transmission services providing broadband Internet access

Information on the number of users of data transmission services providing broadband Internet access as at December 31, 2020 - for entities providing on-demand audiovisual media services.

Pursuant to Art. 19 paragraph 6c of the Act of 30 June 2005 on cinematography (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 257), the obligation to make a payment to the Polish Film Institute, referred to in Art. 19 paragraph 6a and 6b above of the Act does not apply to, inter alia, the entity providing the on-demand audiovisual media service, whose number of users of all on-demand audiovisual media services made available to the public in the year preceding the year in which the obligation to pay the Institute is established, did not exceed 1% of subscribers of data transmission services providing broadband access to the Internet. The number of users of data transmission services providing broadband Internet access is determined, in accordance with this provision, on the basis of data from the inventory referred to in Art. 29 of the Act of 7 May 2010 on supporting the development of telecommunications networks and services (Journal of Laws of 2021, item 777, as amended). In connection with the above, in order to meet the above-mentioned entities, the President of UKE, as the authority having the above-mentioned data, informs that the number of users of data transmission services providing broadband Internet access as at December 31, 2020, determined on the basis of data from this year's inventory of telecommunications infrastructure and services, is 8,429,491.
