Changes in the manner in which services are provided by postal operators
17 March 2020
Postal operators are introducing changes in the way they provide their services to protect the health of their clients and employees.
The changes were introduced in connection with the spread of the SARS CoV-2 coronavirus and restrictions introduced by the Polish government to prevent its spread. Therefore, there may be difficulties in the use of some postal services.
This applies to, among others, Poczta Polska, which limits its office hours and does not accept some international shipments.
InPost, in turn, introduces solutions that are designed to maximally limit employees' contact with external people, which means, among others, suspension of sending and collecting parcels at service points. It will be possible at parcel lockers, partner points and by ordering courier services.
DPD informs, among others, that its couriers will temporarily deliver parcels to the door and without the recipient's signature, provided that the courier contacts the recipient in advance and the recipient agrees to such delivery. Other operators are introducing similar solutions.
Details of changes in the manner of providing services for individual operators should be checked on their websites on an ongoing basis.
