Meeting between the President of UKE and a representative of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
02 July 2026
On the 1st of July 2026, President of UKE, Mr. Przemysław Kuna met with Mr. Jarosław Ponder, Head of the Regional Office for Europe at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
During the meeting, the current involvement of UKE in ITU's work and regional assistance projects was reviewed. For 20 years, UKE has been actively involved in cooperating with the ITU on various levels, including preparations for global conferences, like WRC, WTDC, PP, as well as WTSA and GSR symposia and other international ITU forums. We have shared our regulatory knowledge and experience, participated in numerous ITU projects – including mapping and implementing new regulatory approaches, shared expert knowledge during ITU meetings (international symposia, workshops, working groups, etc.), and contributed to documents developed by the ITU, such as for example the GSR Best Practice Guidelines.
The meeting also covered future directions for cooperation and areas for continued UKE involvement, in the context of implementing UKE’s new Strategy for 2026-2030 and strengthening international cooperation.
It is necessary to continue the current activities while increasing UKE’s involvement in sharing knowledge and experience, including that related to interesting and practical Polish solutions. UKE's involvement in debates and discussions at the forthcoming ITU’s sector conferences, as well as expert engagement in ITU’s working and study groups works, will be very important.
