Office of Telecommunications Regulation - URT (2000-2002)

The Office of Telecommunications Regulation was created in 2000, and its president was appointed by the prime minister for a period of five years.

The Office of Telecommunications Regulation was composed of all employees of the current administrative body of the minister of communications - the State Telecommunications and Postal Inspectorate, and as of 1 January 2001 it also included all employees of the second administrative body supervised by the minister of communications - the National Radiocommunications Agency. 

The president of the Office of Telecommunications Regulation issued administrative and judicial decisions, settling disputes between operators. However, the president did not have the legislative functions which remained within the responsibility of the minister competent in communications. The scope of activities of the president of the Office of Telecommunications Regulation included, among others: regulating and controlling the telecommunications and postal activity. The president also supervised the frequency management and created conditions for the development of national radiocommunications services, providing Poland with the necessary frequency assignments and access to orbital resources. 

The Office of Telecommunications Regulation was liquidated on 31 March 2002 and the competencies were transferred to the Office of Telecommunications and Post Regulation. 

The presidents of the Office of Telecommunications Regulation were: Marek Zdrojewski and Kazimierz Ferenc.
